Australian Mark Webber won his first ever Grand Prix at the Nürburgring after starting from pole and overcoming a drive-through penalty during the race. Team-mate Sebastian Vettel came home second in his home GP, giving Red Bull their third 1-2 of 2009 while Championship leader Jenson Button could only manage fifth.
