Krohn Racing are to return to the European Le Mans Series in 2018, with a Ferrari 488 GTE according French site Endurance-Info.

Krohn Racing sat out the 2017 European Le Mans Series season, but did run in the Le Mans 24 Hours under the name DH Racing. The last full season for Krohn was 2016, where they ran the Ligier JS P2 with the assistance of Greaves Motorsport.

For 2018, Tracy Krohn returns to ELMS, along with 2017 team mates Nic Jönsson and Andrea Bertolini. As expected for a customer Ferrari, AF Corse will provide technical assistance for the effort.

The intention to enter the Le Mans 24 Hours has also been mentioned, although with the entry list looking a bit crowded Krohn may find themselves one of the many disappointed amateur teams.

It’s always nice to see regulars return, especially enthusiastic amateurs. After a year out of ELMS, Tracy Krohn brings his team back to European Series. With the quality of LMP2 going through the roof, and super-silver drivers dominating the Amateur ranks, it’s probably more appropriate that the true Pro-Am team move to the GTE-Am class.

What may be a disappointment for Tracy is the Le Mans entry. Only a couple of years ago, JMW Racing couldn’t get a Le Mans entry due to the grid being oversubscribed. 2018 is looking like an even longer application list. Where will Krohn feature on it? There’s going to be a lot of disappointed teams this year.
