  • Both Mazda Prototypes underwent an engine changed during the weekend. Although Joest and Mazda did not go into details, it is thought that the problem was found and the new units have the issue rectified. John Doonan from Mazda was more positive after the issue was identified.
  • Tomy Drissi will sit out the race due to personal and business commitments. He was due to be part of the #20 BAR1 Motorsports Riley. Luckily, the car already had five drivers registered, so is only reduced to four.
  • United Autosports have played down their chances of taking victory at the Rolex 24. The Ligier Joker upgrade doesn’t appear to have closed the gap to the Oreca 07 at this stage.
  • Whilst Ligier teams play down chances, Oreca teams are having a much happier time. Performance Tech, CORA Autsports and Jackie Can DCR Jota all had cars qualify in the top 10. Sneaky Oreca win possible?
  • Risi Competizioni will travel to Sebring with the intention of entering the GTLM Class. A GTD entry is also possible for Sebring. The team has combined efforts with Keating Motorsports for a GTE-Am entry at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
  • BMW are optimistic despite the problems they’ve suffered so far. The #24 car has suffered various issues throughout the weekend, whilst the #25 hasn’t matched the pace of the other cars. The car has run well during European testing, giving the team cause for optimism.
  • #11 Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 lost its qualifying time after failing post-qualifying tech. The car, which qualified third, will start from the back of the grid.
  • Daily Sports Car has confirmed that the Spirit of Race Ferrari is a one-off entry for Daytona. The AF Corse run car is full of Aston Martin GTE-Am drivers and was chosen over an Aston Martin entry due to the entry fees.
